Dr. P M Bhishikar, born on October 6, 1942, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1982 Maharashtra cadre. He holds a Ph.D. in French, a postgraduate degree in Economics, and a graduate degree in Economics. Throughout his career, he served in various capacities including Deputy Secretary, District Collector, CEO, Additional Collector, Assistant Commissioner, District Supply Officer, Deputy Collector, and Sub-Divisional Officer. His most recent position was Deputy Secretary in the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, Maharashtra. Dr. Bhishikar’s extensive administrative experience spans multiple roles within the Maharashtra state government.
