Commissioner and Director, Department of Consumer Affairs
P Kolappan, born on 23 October 1945, is a retired IAS officer from the 1981 Tamil Nadu cadre. He holds a postgraduate degree in Philosophy and a graduate degree in Economics. Throughout his career, he served in various capacities including District Collector, Deputy Secretary, Joint Commissioner, Managing Director, Director, and Vigilance Officer. His most recent role was Commissioner and Director in the Department of Consumer Affairs from June 2001 to October 2005. His extensive experience spans multiple leadership and administrative positions within the Tamil Nadu government.
