P Kolappan, born on 23 October 1945, is a retired IAS officer from the 1981 Tamil Nadu cadre. He holds a postgraduate degree in Philosophy and a graduate degree in Economics. Throughout his career, he served in various capacities including District Collector, Deputy Secretary, Joint Commissioner, Managing Director, Director, Additional Director, Chief Officer, Vigilance Officer, and Sr. Regional Manager. His most recent position was Commissioner and Director in the Department of Consumer Affairs from 1 June 2001 to 31 October 2005. His extensive service reflects a broad administrative experience within the Tamil Nadu government.
