P Hemalatha, born on May 5, 1976, is a 2000 batch IAS officer of the Karnataka cadre. She holds a B.A. degree from Madurai Kamaj University. Currently, she serves as the Development Commissioner at Cochin in the Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, a position she assumed on March 6, 2023, with a tenure until March 5, 2028. Throughout her career, she has held various roles including Secretary, Joint Secretary, Regional Commissioner, Managing Director, Officer on Special Duty, Mission Director, Deputy Commissioner, Chief Executive Officer, General Manager, and Assistant Commissioner.
