Dr. P D Vaghela, a 1986 batch IAS officer of the Gujarat cadre, served in various capacities including District Collector, Municipal Commissioner, Secretary, and Chief Commissioner. He held the position of Chairperson at the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), Ministry of Communications, New Delhi from October 2020 to September 2023. Educated in Commerce (B.Com., Gujarat University), Public Management & Policy (Institute of ST, The Hague), and Business Administration (B K School of Business Management), Dr. Vaghela received multiple awards including Best District Collector (1998-99) and the Census Silver Medal (2001). He is now retired from service.
