Nityananda Mandal, born on November 1, 1960, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 2002 batch, West Bengal cadre. During his career, he held various positions including Commissioner, Joint Secretary, and Additional Director. He served as Secretary in the Higher Education Department from January 1, 2018, to October 31, 2020. His tenure in the IAS was marked by diverse administrative roles across departments until his retirement.
