Niten Chandra, born on 25 October 1965, is a 1990 batch IAS officer of the Odisha cadre. He holds a Graduate degree in Economics and an M.A. in Economics from Delhi University, along with an LL.B. from Magadh University, Bodh Gaya. Currently, he serves as Secretary in the Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare, Ministry of Defence, New Delhi, since 9 May 2022. His extensive career includes roles such as Additional Secretary, Principal Secretary to Government, Commercial Tax Commissioner, Joint Secretary, Director, and District Collector and District Magistrate. He is proficient in English, French, and Hindi.
