Dr. Neeraj Mittal, born on 17 December 1967, is a 1992 batch IAS officer of the Tamil Nadu cadre. He holds a B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering from IIT Kanpur, an MBA in Business Management from Cranfield University, UK, and a Ph.D. in Management Information Systems from Ohio State University, USA. Currently, he serves as Secretary at the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, New Delhi, since 20 November 2025. His previous roles include Secretary, Additional Chief Secretary to Government, Senior Adviser to Executive Director, Joint Secretary, Director, Private Secretary, Commissioner, District Collector, and other administrative positions. He is proficient in English and Hindi.
