Dr. Neeraj Mittal, born on 17 December 1967, is an Indian Administrative Service officer of the 1992 Tamil Nadu cadre. Currently serving as Secretary at the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, New Delhi since 20 November 2025, he holds a B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering from IIT Kanpur, an MBA in Business Management from Cranfield University, UK, and a Ph.D. in Management Information Systems from Ohio State University, USA. His extensive career includes roles such as Additional Chief Secretary to Government, Senior Adviser to Executive Director, Joint Secretary, Director, Private Secretary, Commissioner, District Collector, and various other administrative positions. He is proficient in English and Hindi.
