Narmdeshwar Lal, born on January 9, 1970, is a 1998 batch IAS officer of the Bihar cadre. Currently serving as the Principal Secretary in the Agriculture Department of Bihar since December 30, 2025, he has held various key positions including Investigation Commissioner, Secretary General, District Magistrate, and Deputy Development Commissioner. He holds a B.Tech. in Petroleum Engineering, a Certificate in Public Policy from Syracuse University, and a postgraduate degree in Public Policy. Fluent in English and Hindi, Narmdeshwar Lal continues to contribute to the Indian Administrative Service with extensive experience across multiple administrative roles.
