Naresh Kumar, born on July 8, 1946, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1986 batch of the Uttar Pradesh cadre. He holds a graduate degree in Civil Engineering. Throughout his career, he served in various capacities including Sub Divisional Magistrate, Chief Executive Officer, Chief Development Officer, District Collector and Magistrate, Special Secretary Director, Vice Chairman, and was once under suspension. His most recent appointment was as Secretary of the Religious Affairs Department from March 6, 2006, to July 31, 2006.
