N Vittal, born on January 31, 1938, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1960 batch of the Gujarat cadre. A graduate in Chemistry, he served in various capacities including District Collector, Deputy Secretary, Under Secretary, Director, Commissioner, Secretary, Additional Secretary, Additional Chief Secretary, Managing Director, and Development Commissioner. He also held the position of Cen Vig Commissioner and OSD to Minister. His most recent role was Chairman at Andhra Pradesh from December 11, 2002, to May 18, 2004, within the Government of Andhra Pradesh.
