N J Narayana, born on June 15, 1954, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1980 batch of the Andhra Pradesh cadre. He holds a graduate degree in Medicine. Throughout his career, he served in various capacities including Sub Collector, Project Officer, Joint Collector, District Collector, Joint Secretary, Additional Secretary, Deputy Secretary, and Managing Director. His most recent position was Managing Director in the Industries Department from September 1, 1995, to September 10, 1996.
