Mukesh Kumar, born on July 8, 1970, is an Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1996 Gujarat cadre. He holds a B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering from IIT Kanpur and an EMPA in Public Administration from Syracuse University. Currently serving as Additional Chief Secretary in the Education Department (Higher and Technical Education) of Gujarat since January 1, 2026, he has held various key positions including Principal Secretary to Government, Vice Chairman & CEO, Municipal Commissioner, State Project Director, Managing Director, Joint Director, District Collector, and Assistant Collector. He is proficient in Hindi, English, and Gujarati.
