Mrityunjay Kumar Narayan, an Indian Administrative Service officer of the 1995 batch from the Uttar Pradesh cadre, was born on January 1, 1970. He holds a B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering, an M.Tech. from IIT Kanpur, and an M.Sc. in Public Policy & Management from King's College London. Currently, he serves as the Registrar General and Census Commissioner of India at New Delhi (since October 19, 2022). His past roles include Additional Secretary, Joint Secretary, Secretary to Chief Minister, Excise Commissioner, and various district-level positions such as District Collector and District Magistrate. He is proficient in English and Hindi.
