Monika S. Garg, an IAS officer of the 1989 batch from the Uttar Pradesh cadre, was born on April 14, 1965. She holds postgraduate and M.Phil. degrees in Physics. Currently serving as Additional Chief Secretary at the Minority Development and Muslim Waqf Department in Lucknow since August 31, 2022, she has held numerous key positions including Principal Secretary to the Government of Uttar Pradesh, Director General, Joint Secretary, and District Magistrate. She has been recognized with the Times of India Social Impact Award and the Stree Shakti Puraskar for her work in socio-economic development. She is proficient in English, Hindi, and Punjabi.
