Mohammad Tayyab, born on 14 March 1978, is a 2007 batch IAS officer of the Punjab cadre. He holds a B.Sc. from Lucknow University and an M.B.A. from Guru Ghasidas University, Bilaspur. Currently, he serves as Secretary in the Jails Department, Punjab, a position he has held since 20 August 2025. Throughout his career, he has held various roles including Administrative Secretary, Managing Director, Special Secretary, Chief Executive Officer, Director General, Deputy Commissioner, Additional Secretary, ADC, SDO/SDM, Assistant Commissioner, and Director. He is proficient in English and Hindi and continues to serve in the Indian Administrative Service.
