Mohammad Shahid, born on 16 September 1971, is a 1998 batch IAS officer of the Gujarat cadre. He holds a Diploma in Arabic, a Graduate degree in History, and a postgraduate degree in History. Currently, he serves as the Principal Secretary & Commissioner in the Cottage and Rural Industries Department, Gujarat, a position he has held since 23 December 2025. Throughout his career, he has held various roles including Principal Secretary, Director General, Secretary, Commissioner, and District Collector. He has also served in inter-cadre deputation and as Private Secretary to a Minister. He remains in active service.
