Md. Sohail, born on 10 January 1968, is a 2007 batch IAS officer of the Bihar cadre. He holds a B.Tech. degree in Civil Engineering. Currently serving as Secretary in the Minority Welfare Department, Bihar since 26 January 2024, he has previously held positions including Director, Additional Secretary, District Collector and Magistrate, Joint Secretary, and Secretary. Throughout his career, he has received several awards such as Best Conduction of Exams, Best Electrification District Award, Best District in Services, Public Grievance Redressal Award, and Youth Skill Development. Md. Sohail continues to serve in the Indian Administrative Service.
