Markeandey Singh, born on April 28, 1947, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1990 batch of the Uttar Pradesh cadre. He holds postgraduate degrees in Philosophy and Law (LL.B.). Throughout his career, he served in various capacities including District Magistrate, District Collector and Magistrate, Special Secretary, Additional Director, and Special Secretary Director. His most recent position was Director General in the Department of Public Enterprises from December 19, 2005, to April 30, 2007. Singh's service record also notes a period of suspension.
