Mahavir Yadav, born on 25 June 1947, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1989 batch of the Uttar Pradesh cadre. A graduate by education, he served in various capacities including District Collector and Magistrate, Special Secretary Director, Special Secretary, Additional Commissioner, and Member. His most recent position was Director General of the Jails Department, a role he held from 8 March 2005 to 30 June 2007. Throughout his career, Yadav contributed to the administration of Uttar Pradesh until his retirement.
