Madhumita Ray, born on August 15, 1957, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1999 batch, West Bengal cadre. She served in the Higher Education Department, holding the position of Secretary from January 1, 2016, to August 31, 2017. Prior to this, she held roles as Additional Secretary and Joint Secretary. Throughout her career, Madhumita Ray contributed to the administrative functions within her cadre and department until her retirement.
