M. Vallalar, born on 22 June 1967, is a 2003 batch Indian Administrative Service officer of the Tamil Nadu cadre. He holds an M.A. and a Ph.D. Currently, he serves as Secretary in the Social Reforms Department of Tamil Nadu, a position he has held since 24 June 2025. Throughout his career, Vallalar has held various roles including Managing Director, Vice Chairperson and CEO, Director, District Collector, Deputy Secretary, and Commissioner. He continues to serve in the IAS, contributing to the administration of Tamil Nadu.
