M Thennarasan, born on 25 July 1971, is an IAS officer of the 2000 batch from the Gujarat cadre. He holds graduate, postgraduate, and M.Sc. degrees in Agriculture from Agricultural University Coimbatore. Currently serving as Principal Secretary in the Urban Development and Urban Housing Department, Gujarat since 17 June 2025, he has held multiple key positions including Assistant Collector, District Collector, Municipal Commissioner, and Mines Commissioner. He has received several awards such as The Best District Development Officer and Gujarat Government’s Best DDO Award for multiple years. He is proficient in English, Tamil, and Gujarati.
