M Sambasiva Rao, born on May 5, 1957, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1984 Andhra Pradesh cadre. He holds a Ph.D. in Zoology, along with postgraduate and graduate degrees in the same field. Throughout his career, he served in various capacities including Assistant Collector, Project Director, Managing Director, Joint Collector, District Collector and Magistrate, Joint Secretary, Special Secretary to the Chief Minister, and Director. His most recent position was Joint Secretary from January 4, 2006, to April 24, 2007. Rao’s extensive administrative experience spans multiple key roles within the Andhra Pradesh government.
