M R Vijayakumar, born on April 17, 1953, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1981 batch, Karnataka cadre. He holds a postgraduate degree in Agronomy and a graduate degree in Agriculture. Throughout his career, he served in various capacities including Assistant Commissioner, Special Deputy Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner, Joint Director, Director, Joint Secretary, and Secretary. His most recent position was Director at Bangalore, Karnataka, from June 1, 1996, to December 17, 1999. He was associated with the Department of Planning and Programme Implementation during his service.
