M R Kothari, born on 18 September 1960, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 2005 Gujarat cadre. He holds a B.Sc. in Science from Gujarat University, Ahmedabad. Throughout his career, he served in various capacities including Director, Municipal Commissioner, District Development Officer, Joint Secretary, and Under Secretary. His most recent position was Managing Director in the Energy Department of Gujarat, commencing on 4 September 2019.
