M J Thakkar, born on February 4, 1961, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 2004 batch, Gujarat cadre. During his career, he served in the Department of Rural Development, holding key positions including District Collector and Additional Rural Development Commissioner. His most recent role was Commissioner at Gujarat, a position he held from May 4, 2017, to February 28, 2021. Throughout his tenure, he contributed to the administration and development initiatives within the state of Gujarat.
