M G Acharya, born on April 6, 1947, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1995 batch, Punjab cadre. He holds an M.A. in Political Science, a Ph.D., and an LL.B. During his service, he worked in the Education Department and most recently served as Special Secretary from January 30, 2007, to April 30, 2007. His career in the IAS reflects his commitment to public administration within Punjab.
