Dr. M D Godbole, born on 15 August 1936, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1959 Maharashtra cadre. He holds postgraduate degrees in Development Economics and Economics, along with a graduate degree in Economics. Throughout his career, Dr. Godbole served in various capacities including Secretary, Principal Secretary, Joint Secretary, Deputy Secretary, Private Secretary, Under Secretary, Commissioner, Chairman, CEO, and Assistant Collector. His most recent designation was On Leave at Maharashtra in the Department of Home Affairs. Dr. Godbole’s extensive service reflects a broad administrative experience within the Indian government.
