M Bandyopadhyay, born on March 11, 1935, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1982 batch, West Bengal cadre. He holds graduate and postgraduate degrees in Sanskrit. Throughout his career, he served in various capacities including Sub Divisional Officer, Deputy Director, Director, Additional District Magistrate, Additional Executive Officer, and Joint Secretary at different levels. His most recent position was Joint Secretary in the Forest and Environment Department from July 1, 1991, to March 1, 1993.
