Lok Ranjan, a 1989 batch IAS officer of the Tripura cadre, was born on January 22, 1964. He holds a B.Tech and M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Kanpur and an M.P.A. in Public Administration from Syracuse University. Over his career, he served in various capacities including District Collector and Magistrate, Managing Director, Director, Joint Secretary, Additional Secretary, Principal Secretary, Commissioner & Secretary. His most recent role was Secretary at the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region from September 23, 2021, to September 19, 2023. He is now retired from the Indian Administrative Service.
