Kurma Rao M, born on November 4, 1980, is an Indian Administrative Service officer of the 2011 Karnataka cadre. He holds a B.Tech. in Computer Science from Andhra University, Visakhapatnam. Currently serving as Secretary in the Department of Commerce under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry since June 16, 2025, Kurma Rao has held various positions including Director, Additional Chief Electoral Officer, Deputy Commissioner, Managing Director, Deputy Secretary, Chief Executive Officer, Assistant Commissioner, and State Project Director. He has received multiple awards such as the Award of Excellence for Best Performance in Electoral Practices, Certificate of Appreciation, Award of Excellence, and the Sakala Award for Timely Delivery of Citizen Services.
