Krishna Kumar Nirala, born on 17 January 1974, is an Indian Administrative Service officer of the 2005 Gujarat cadre. He holds a Ph.D. in Administrative Management from Gujarat, an M.Sc. in Chemistry, and a B.Sc. in Physics from Magadh University, Bodh-Gaya. Currently serving as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting since 28 May 2024, Nirala has held various positions including Secretary to Government, Commissioner, Additional Secretary, District Collector and Magistrate, Joint Magistrate, Member Secretary, Director, and District Development Officer. He has received the Kalam Innovation in Governance Award, Best District Collector, and Best District Development Officer awards. He is proficient in English, Hindi,
