Krishna Gupta, born on 22 June 1966, is a 1991 batch IAS officer of the West Bengal cadre. He holds an M.Phil., M.A., and Ph.D. Currently, he serves as the State Election Commissioner of West Bengal since 25 June 2026. Throughout his career, he has held various positions including Additional Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary, Managing Director, District Magistrate, Joint Secretary, and Commissioner. He has been recognized with the Dissertation Improvement Award by the National Science Foundation in 1999 and an award for participation in an international workshop. He is proficient in English and Hindi. Krishna Gupta continues to serve in the Indian Administrative Service.
