Kamran Rizvi, born on 24 October 1966, is a 1991 batch IAS officer of the Uttar Pradesh cadre. He holds a B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering and an M.Tech. in Design Engineering from IIT Delhi. Currently serving as Secretary at the Department of Heavy Industry, Ministry of Heavy Industries, New Delhi (since 18 November 2022), Rizvi has held numerous key positions including Officer on Special Duty, Additional Secretary, Joint Secretary, Chairman and Managing Director, Commissioner, and District Collector. He has been honored with the National Award for e-Governance (2011-12), CAPAM International Innovations Gold Medal, and the Prime Minister Award for Excellence in Public Administration. He is proficient in English and Hindi
