K Kailashnathan, born on 25 May 1953, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1979 Gujarat cadre. He holds graduate and postgraduate degrees in Chemistry. Throughout his career, he served in various capacities including Assistant Collector, District Development Officer, District Collector, Additional Commissioner, Chief Electoral Officer, Vice Chairperson, Municipal Commissioner, Secretary, Principal Secretary, and Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister. His most recent position was Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister and Secretary at Gandhinagar, Gujarat, from October 2010 to May 2013.
