Dr. K Gopal, born on 10 August 1966, is a retired IAS officer from the 1992 Tamil Nadu cadre. He holds an M.B.B.S. degree and has served in various capacities including Additional Chief Secretary to Government, Vigilance Commissioner, Principal Secretary, Development Commissioner, and District Collector. His most recent role was Additional Chief Secretary at the Co-operation, Food and Consumer Protection Department in Chennai from 17 August 2023 to 28 February 2026. Dr. Gopal has been recognized with awards such as the Golden Leaf Award (2014) for public service to the Tobacco Board of India, the Participant Popularity Award during IAS Phase IV Training, and the Green Award (2002).
