K G Ramanathan, born on 15 May 1939, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1962 Gujarat cadre. He holds a postgraduate degree in Physics and a Certificate in Public Administration. Throughout his career, he served in various capacities including Assistant Collector, District Collector, District Development Officer, Deputy Secretary, Director, Joint Secretary, Secretary, and Minister. His most recent position was Managing Director in the Industries and Commerce Department of Gujarat from 1 May 1987 to 1 October 1992. Ramanathan’s extensive service reflects a diverse administrative experience within the Gujarat cadre.
