He holds a B.E. from Bangalore University, a B.Sc. from the University of Agricultural Science Bangalore, and an M.Sc. from IARI New Delhi. Currently, he serves as Secretary in the Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms, Karnataka, since 30 June 2025. His past roles include Assistant Commissioner, Commissioner of School Education, Additional Chief Electoral Officer, Commissioner of Labour, Mines Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner, Managing Director, Director, and Mission Director. He received the National Award for e-Governance (2013-14) and a Gold Award for GPS Mobile-based Housing Monitoring
