K Dhanavel, born on June 9, 1954, is a retired IAS officer from the 1992 Tamil Nadu cadre. He holds a Graduate degree in Science, an LL.B. in Law, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration. Throughout his career, he served in various capacities including District Collector, Joint Secretary, Deputy Secretary, Project Director, Vice Chairman and Managing Director, Managing Director, Principal Secretary and Director. His most recent role was Secretary in the Industries Department from October 28, 2012, to June 30, 2014.
