J Sankaran, born on January 6, 1949, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1972 batch of the Maharashtra cadre. She holds postgraduate degrees in English Literature and Development Economics, along with a graduate degree in English. Throughout her career, she served in various capacities including Additional Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary, Managing Director, Secretary, Specialist, Deputy Specialist, District Collector, CEO, and SDO. Her most recent position was Additional Chief Secretary in the Tourism and Cultural Affairs Department of Maharashtra. J Sankaran's extensive service reflects a diverse administrative experience within the Maharashtra government.
