J Rama Krishna Rao, born on March 1, 1959, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1985 Bihar cadre. He holds a B.Tech. in Electronics and a Postgraduate Diploma in Industrial Engineering. Over his career, he served in various capacities including Secretary, Additional Secretary, Joint Secretary, Chairman, Examination Controller, Project Director, Commissioner, Consultant, Deputy Director, Chief Vigilance Officer, Managing Director, Special Secretary, Deputy Commissioner, District Magistrate, and Sub-Divisional Officer. His most recent position was Secretary at the National Commission for Minorities from May 21, 2018, to February 28, 2019.
