J R Thakur, born on December 1, 1935, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1983 Madhya Pradesh cadre. He held various positions throughout his career, including Deputy Secretary, Joint Secretary, Project Officer, Controller, Deputy Director, Junior Scale, CEO, Deputy Collector, and Under Secretary. His most recent role was Deputy Secretary in the Energy Department of Madhya Pradesh from July 1, 1992, to October 1, 1993. Thakur holds graduate degrees in Law and Economics, as well as a postgraduate degree in Economics.
