J Nivas, born on 20 February 1982, is an Indian Administrative Service officer from the 2010 batch, Andhra Pradesh cadre. He holds a B.E. degree from Vellore Institute of Technology. Currently, he serves as the Director of Census Operations, Andhra Pradesh, a position he has held since 31 May 2025. His previous roles include Project Director, District Collector and Magistrate, Commissioner, Managing Director, Joint Collector, and Additional Secretary to Government. He is proficient in English and Tamil. J Nivas continues to serve in the IAS, contributing to the administration of Andhra Pradesh.
