Throughout his career, he served in various capacities including Deputy Collector, District Development Officer, Deputy Secretary, Director, Commissioner, Joint Secretary, Secretary, Managing Director, and Additional Secretary. His most recent position was Additional Secretary at Gujarat's General Administration Department (Personnel) from August to December 1988. Gajjar's extensive service reflects a diverse administrative experience within the Gujarat cadre.
