Iqbal Singh Chahal, born on 20 January 1966, is a retired IAS officer from the 1989 Maharashtra cadre. He holds a B.E. in Electronics and has served in various capacities including Municipal Commissioner, Additional Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary, Joint Secretary, District Collector, and Chairman of the Mumbai Police Housing Township Project from 22 January 2026. His distinguished career includes recognition such as the Certificate of Appreciation from the World Bank Group, SKOCH Best Administrator Award for Covid management, and the Mumbai Ratna Award. He is proficient in English, Hindi, Marathi, and Punjabi.
