Hemant Rao, born on 25 February 1964, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1987 batch, Uttar Pradesh cadre. A graduate in Civil Engineering, he has held multiple key positions including District Magistrate, Chief Vigilance Officer, Joint Secretary, Additional Chief Secretary, and Special Secretary. Most recently, he served as Chairman of the Board of Revenue from 31 August 2023. Throughout his career, Rao contributed to various administrative roles such as District Collector and Magistrate, Chief Development Officer, and Assistant Collector, demonstrating extensive experience in governance and public administration within Uttar Pradesh.
