Hemant Rao, born on 25 February 1964, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1987 batch of the Uttar Pradesh cadre. A graduate in Civil Engineering, he served in various capacities including Additional Chief Secretary, Joint Secretary, Chief Vigilance Officer, Director, Secretary Director, District Magistrate, Special Secretary, District Collector and Magistrate, Chief Development Officer, Additional District Magistrate, and Assistant Collector. Most recently, he held the position of Chairman at the Board of Revenue from 31 August 2023 until his retirement.
