H R Patankar, born on 29 July 1932, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1956 Gujarat cadre. He holds a postgraduate degree in Economics and a graduate degree in Economics. Throughout his career, he served in various capacities including Assistant Collector, Deputy Commissioner, District Collector, Deputy Secretary, CEO, Managing Director, Additional Secretary, Principal Secretary, and Additional Chief Secretary. His most recent position was Chief Secretary to the Government of Gujarat in the General Administration Department (Personnel) from 1 February 1988 to 1 March 1990. Patankar’s extensive service reflects a broad administrative experience within the Gujarat cadre.
