Gurneet Tej, born on 15 September 1981, is an Indian Administrative Service officer from the 2006 Karnataka cadre. She holds a B.A. and M.A. from Punjab University, Chandigarh. Currently, she serves as Joint Secretary in the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, New Delhi, since 26 October 2024. Her previous roles include Additional Resident Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner, Additional Secretary, Officer on Special Duty to Minister, Director, Chief Executive Officer, and Assistant Commissioner. She is proficient in English, Hindi, and Punjabi. Gurneet Tej continues to serve in the IAS.
