Gitanjali Gupta, born on 28 November 1970, is an Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1996 batch, AGMUT cadre. She holds a B.Sc. in Chemistry and an M.Sc. in Biotechnology from Delhi University. Currently, she serves as Additional Secretary at NITI Aayog, New Delhi, since 6 November 2023. Her past roles include Managing Director, Secretary, Chairperson, Resident Commissioner, Controller of Examinations, Commissioner, CMD, Director, Deputy Secretary, Additional Director, Joint Secretary, and OSD. She has received the Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence in Public Administration and multiple Icon Awards for leadership and government process re-engineering. She is proficient in English and Hindi.
