Girish Chandra Murmu, born on 21 November 1959, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1985 Gujarat cadre. He holds a graduate and postgraduate degree in Political Science. Throughout his career, Murmu served in various capacities including District Collector, Deputy Secretary, Managing Director, Commissioner, Additional Secretary, Joint Secretary, and Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister. His most recent position was Secretary at Gujarat's Finance Department (Expenditure) from March to October 2019. His extensive experience spans roles such as Additional Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, Registrar, Vice Chairman, and OSD to Minister.
